we come from two corners of the world — i’m venezuelan catholic, and akshaan is indian. when we met, our worlds couldn’t have been more different — languages, food, family expectations. but somehow, we found a rhythm that made sense.

our wedding in northern virginia was a celebration of both worlds. we had latin music, indian food, prayers in spanish and hindi, and families who finally saw how love can make space for everyone. it wasn’t about blending into one — it was about honoring both.

when i met sufian, i never thought faith would be such a beautiful challenge. i’m christian, and he’s muslim. we knew it wouldn’t be easy — two people raised differently, learning to share a life without changing who we are.

from the start, we made a promise: we would never try to convert the other. instead, we’d learn, respect, and grow together. we’ve had long, honest conversations, disagreements, and moments of deep understanding. what keeps us grounded is simple — we love each other’s hearts more than we fear our differences.

His profile on the dating app made me pause — something about his words felt sincere, a little funny, and effortlessly real. What started as a simple message quickly turned into endless conversations that made distance feel small.

From late-night talks, to our first meeting under the city lights, everything felt so natural, like we’d known each other forever.

When the day finally came to say our vows, it wasn’t the grand wedding we once imagined — but it was full of meaning. Our families joined us over video calls, their smiles and tears filling the room from miles away. It wasn’t traditional, but it was ours — honest, intimate, and deeply full of love.

Love truly finds its way — through screens, across oceans, and into the hearts that are meant to meet. ❤️

i grew up in a christian home with buddhist roots — a house filled with quiet prayers, incense, and sunday hymns. chris, on the other hand, was raised roman catholic, with his own traditions and a family deeply tied to the church. when we first met, faith wasn’t something we talked about much — love was easy, effortless. but as we grew closer, we knew that our families might not see things the same way. it wasn’t rejection, not even disapproval — just uncertainty, the kind that comes when two worlds meet.

we decided early on that we wouldn’t let fear define our story. instead, we showed our families who we were — through small moments. dinners where we laughed until late, holidays shared between churches and temples, gestures of respect for each other’s beliefs. little by little, those walls began to fade. they saw that our love wasn’t about choosing one path over another, but about walking side by side on both.

faith didn’t divide us; it taught us compassion. it taught us patience, humility, and understanding. and in the end, our families came to realize what we had known all along — that love grounded in respect is stronger than any difference.

we met in malaysia, two hearts from very different backgrounds. i’m malay-muslim; he’s christian and indian. our relationship was something we had to protect — not because we were ashamed, but because the world around us didn’t always understand.

there were long-distance months that tested our patience, and cultural tensions that tested our courage. family expectations weighed heavy, but through every doubt, we found peace in knowing our love was real. we didn’t fight to prove a point — we simply lived our truth, one day at a time.

we met online — just two people who never imagined that a simple message would turn into a lifelong story. for eight years, our love stretched across three continents, countless time zones, and more airport goodbyes than we can count.

there were nights when we fell asleep on video calls, days spent planning the next visit, and moments when the distance felt endless. but every mile only made us stronger. we learned to trust, to communicate, and to believe that love could survive anything — even oceans.

after years of waiting, dreaming, and holding on, we finally closed the distance. standing side by side, we realized something beautiful: love doesn’t need to be easy — it just needs to be real.

We met in Dubai, two people from completely different worlds — I was Sikh, and Aldrin was Catholic. What started as friendship soon became something deeper. But life pulled us apart when I had to return to India. For eight long months, we lived between time zones, calls, and prayers, wondering if love could really survive the distance and our religious divide.

It wasn’t easy — our families had questions, and our faiths stood on opposite sides. But love has a way of clearing the noise. When I returned to Dubai, we knew we didn’t want to live apart again. I made the choice to embrace Christianity, not out of pressure, but out of love and shared faith in our future.

Today, we stand stronger for every mile and every difference we once thought could break us.

We never knew that destiny was about to unfold in the most unexpected way.

Our love story began with music. I was just a girl working as a performing artist and singer every night, while my partner, John, was an Admin Assistant.

One night, John decided to join his friends at a sports bar, even though he wasn’t the type to frequent such places. But perhaps, fate had other plans.

That night, just before my set, I suddenly felt something unusual. It was as if someone whispered in my ear, saying, “The one meant for you is about to come.” I brushed it off as a strange thought—until I saw him.

John had just stepped into the bar when my set began. He stood right in front, completely mesmerized, staring at me the entire time, oblivious to his friends. During my break, he approached me, introduced himself, and we started talking. Then, with sincerity in his eyes, he told me he felt something special the moment he saw me. He believed I was the one he wanted to be with forever. His unwavering gaze made me feel incredibly awkward. 😅

At the time, I wasn’t interested in entertaining suitors. My focus was on my career, so I ignored him. But John was persistent—every night, he returned to watch me perform. His favorite song was California King Bed by Rihanna, and every time I sang it, I could see in his eyes how deeply he had fallen for me.

With his unwavering dedication, I slowly began to fall for him too, and we grew closer. Eventually, we decided to be together. As time passed, we dreamed of starting a family. However, my gynecologist back in the Philippines had once warned me of complications that might make pregnancy difficult. We tried multiple times but to no avail. It became heartbreaking, and I reached a point where I decided to stop hoping.

Then, a miracle happened. During a vacation in the Philippines, just before my birthday, I discovered I was pregnant. It was the most beautiful gift from God. Now, our little princess is here, filling our lives with joy.

The only thing missing is for us to be officially married and blessed by God—to complete our journey as one family.

I was just looking for a fun evening with friends, a way to unwind after a busy day of beauty training. Little did I know, I was about to meet the person I’d want to spend forever with. We were randomly paired for a game, and right from the start, something clicked. Zuhair’s quiet smile and sharp wit immediately caught my attention. The game became secondary as our conversation flowed effortlessly. Despite our different backgrounds, we discovered so much in common.
Zuhair is from Saudi Arabia, and I’m from Kyrgyzstan. That alone presented challenges. His family, in particular, was hesitant about our relationship. It felt like an uphill battle, trying to prove that love, regardless of origin, is real and worth fighting for.
But we didn’t let that stop us. Even when the odds were stacked against us, we stayed strong. Instead of breaking under pressure, we grew closer. We talked through our dreams, fears, and love for each other. Every challenge only strengthened our bond.
We realized that it wasn’t about where we came from but the life we wanted to build together. Yes, our families had doubts. Yes, cultural differences were real. But love, respect, and a shared vision for the future meant more than any obstacle.
Looking back—the misunderstandings, the doubts, the moments of joy—I can say with all my heart that it was worth it. I’ve found the person who makes me laugh, who challenges me, and who I want to build a life with.
As we prepare to get married, I know we’ve already overcome so much. Our story isn’t just about different countries coming together; it’s about two people who chose each other despite everything. And even if our families weren’t sure at first, I believe that, in time, they’ll see just how strong our love is.
Zuhair and I are ready to face whatever comes next—together. And as we take this next step, I’m filled with excitement for the future and gratitude for everything that brought us here.
