On Sunday the 13th the Land rover club came out to Non Stop Adventures once again and held another gated event by us. As we were on the way to the SA Adventure industry association conference in the drakensberg, we relied on others to provide us with videos etc. Many thanks to Rochelle who has sent me some videos from not just this last Sunday but also previous land rover events at Non Stop. Always happy to have the land rover group join us as they just get on with their own thing😁

Come visit the Hopewell Glacial Heritage site. Visit us at Non stop adventures and we will take you to visit there.

One of the most extraordinary geological landmarks in South Africa is right here in Richmond β€” the Lynmouth Glacial Pavement, located in Hopewell!

These ancient rock formations, carved by retreating glaciers over 300 million years ago, are clear evidence that this very land was once locked in ice during the Karoo Ice Age. ❄️

πŸ“ Although tucked away in the quiet hills of Hopewell, this natural wonder is a globally significant site β€” and it’s open for you to explore!

πŸ›οΈ Learn more about it at the Richmond Museum, and

It was so lovely to hold Sarah Shuttleworth and Chad Mckenzie's wedding here at Non Stop Adventures on 29 March 2025. Having taught Chad GR 8 Math's and with Piet having taught or had quite a few of the bridal party in his rugby teams at Kloof High. Knowing friends and family, Elaine Greeff Chad's mom is a very good friend and knowing a number of the family and friends made it extra special. From build a burger Friday Evening held in our house due to rain, till after breakfast Sunday morning it was a wedding with lots of laughter and happiness.
Thank you to Two Sisters Photography for their beautiful photos, you made everything look wonderful.
Chad and Sarah may you continue to be so happy and celebrate every day with the same joy. Thank you for trusting us to be part of your very special day. πŸ€—β€οΈπŸ€—

So on Tuesday, Piets 70th birthday we saw another beautiful sunrise and thought it would be another promising day. It started well but then as we came out the channel to cross lake one back to the campsite, the wind came up swamping the little boat. This would have been fine if we hadn't run out of petrol. Whilst Piet added more the boat flooded more and more, had to hide in the reeds and use our snack tupperware dish to baillike mad, luckily it was a big snack dish. But ended the day with a lovely meal at a place close to parks board. πŸŒ…πŸš£β€β™€οΈπŸŽ‚Ps a similar health certificate to us, we have many people have eaten here and survived.

And now we are back in SA at Kosi Bay for 2 nights before home on Wed. Have had a lovely ride on the water and lucky to have another shady, peaceful campsite right by the water so that boat can stay in water. Trying to pluck up courage to head into the third lake tomorrow where the hipposπŸ¦›πŸ¦›πŸ¦› normally are, this boat is a bit smallπŸ₯΄πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«so not sure I am too keen.!!! Lovely newish board walk.

So Piet and I finally managed to get away for a bit. First we had a one night stop over at Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary in Swaziland after quite a long drive via a very potholes road near Wakkerstroom. It was like playing dodgems with the risk being a flat tire if the potholes won. Then on Tuesday we went across into Mozambique and finally ended up at a lovely campsite Laguna camp in Praia Do Bilene. Unfortunately quite windy so only got one chance to take boat out on the big, lake like lagoon but had some lovely walks where I haven't seen so many sea urchin shells in one place. Then we headed down past Maputo over their big bridge where the ferry used to be and are now in Ponta do Ouro, had a lovely swim in a crystal clear sea. Been warm this trip, can sit outside and braai each night. Tomorrow back to SA and either Kosi bay or Zinkwazi, still to decide.

And a few photos I took of Sisekelo High with us. Some wild jumps swinging from a rope into the dam, and a lively raft race. And an activity that always reminds me of the song " there's a hole in my bucket Dear Liza, then fix it Dear Henry" bit difficult when there are 20 or more holes but with lots of teamwork and many fingers and possibly some toes, it is possible. 🌴🌻🏞️🌺

Some more pictures from Sisekelo Highs trip, really a great group who thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Lovely to just have had Sisekelo High School join us for a 4 night camp all the way from Eswatini (Swaziland). A fun camp to host with a visit to Amanzimtoti Splash world and a quick run on the beach.

As we do every year, we hosted the Primary schools land services weekend of team building and leadership skills. It was a pleasure this year to have Arboretum Primary join Werda and Gelofte (long time friends) for the first time. As always the children are very enthusiastic, happy to try anything and well behaved. We hope to see you again soon. Also lovely to have a teacher with us who had been to Non Stop as a student with the high school for GR 9, 10 and 11 landsdiens, only missing GR 12 due to Covid and no camps held then.
