Finding Light Photography is run and owned by me, Camilla Moller. I started my photography career nearly 10 years ago, working on TV shows such as Food with Friends on SABC3 and photographing for SILO, the leading pack photography company in South Africa. Thru my years I have had the privilege of learning from so many amazing photographers, building and expanding my skills as a photographer. Now t

hat the history lesson is done, I can tell you more about my current focus, YOU! Capturing the love you and your family share is what drives me. From your maternity portraiture, your baby's birth, newborn session, baptism and 1st birthday to the arrival of their new little sibling. I want you to put your phone down and be in the moment -and the photographs for once. My office is currently based in the Edenvale area but I Travel all around Johannesburg, Gauteng and South Africa to capture special moments for many happy clients. When I work with a family they open up to me and show me just a glimpse of their lives, which is a privilege. By far, one of the highlights of my career has to be branching out to be coming a birth photographer. Being present at a baby's birth is the most magical experience, every birth I have witnessed has me nearly in tears every time. The last thing daddy needs is to see his baby's birth on a cellphone screen, that is why I am there. We offer Maternity shoots, Birth photography, Newborn Photography, Family portraits and all family event photography including weddings. This is James, he had a rough start but he is a fighter. I have followed his story so closely since he was born, step by step he conquered his battles and getting to meet him brought me to tears. James you are so special to me and I cannot wait to see you again!

I asked his mama to share his story, to inspire and encourage others 🤍

James was born on the 1st of November 2024 with an undetected fatal heart defect. Around 48 hours after birth he was rushed to NICU, placed on a ventilator and two separate life support machines. Due to the knowledge of the Drs that were providentially around at this time, a cardiac issue was diagnosed. This was the start of a long road of unknowns. He was transported in an incubator to Sunninghill Hospital and there he spent the next 3,5 months in the CTICU ward. By the new year he had undergone 2 open heart surgeries and several minor procedures. Fought and recovered from acidosis, several bacterial and fungal infections and pneumonias.
He still had a hole in his heart which needed repairing and due to several failed attempts to remove him from the ventilator and a collapsed lung, the decision was made to go back in and close. It was too soon but if they didn't he would likely have not made it. The operation was successful but it did come with a very stressful post-op. But, again God showed His mercy on this little boy. He still has a few minor obstacles to overcome, but by God's grace he is thriving and on the road to being a healthy little boy. 1 in 100 babies are born with CHD (Congenital Heart Disease) some detected some not.
