CROSSING OVER INTO 2025 WITH FAITH AND EXPECTATION!

Dear Ecclesia Bible Study Group and Team Seipei for Christ,

As we stand on the threshold of a new year, we're reminded of the powerful presence of God in our lives. Our beloved Senior Pastor Stella has been inspired by Genesis 1:2, 'The Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.'

Just as the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters, preparing them for the creation of the world, we believe He is hovering over us, preparing us for the new creation that awaits us in 2025!

As we reflect on the past year and prepare to crossover into 2025, let's remember that God is always working in our lives, preparing us for the new things He has in store.

Let's crossover into 2025 with faith, expectation, and a heart full of joy, knowing that God is with us every step of the way!

Psalm 137 can be related to the idea of being forced to celebrate Christ on a pagan day in the following ways:

1. *Forced assimilation*: Just as the Israelites were forced to sing the Lord's song in a foreign land (Psalm 137:3-4), some Christians may feel that they are being forced to celebrate Christmas on a day that has pagan origins, rather than on a day that is truly rooted in Christian tradition.
2. *Cultural compromise*: The Israelites were pressured to adopt the customs and practices of their Babylonian captors, just as some Christians may feel that they are being pressured to compromise their faith by celebrating Christmas on a day that has been influenced by pagan traditions.
3. *Longing for authenticity*: The Psalmist's cry of "How can we sing the Lord's song in a foreign land?" (Psalm 137:4) can be seen as a longing for authenticity and a desire to worship God in a way that is true to their faith. Similarly, some Christians may feel that celebrating Christmas on a pagan day is not an authentic way to honor Christ.
4. *Remembering Zion*: The Psalmist's remembrance of Zion (Psalm 137:1) can be seen as a longing for a pure and untainted worship of God. Similarly, some Christians may feel that celebrating Christmas on a pagan day is a departure from the pure worship of God, and that they should instead strive to remember and honor Christ in a way that is untainted by pagan influences.

Overall, Psalm 137 can be seen as a powerful expression of the tension between cultural compromise and faithfulness to God, which is a theme that is still relevant today in the context of celebrating Christmas on a pagan day.

"Remembering Zion: A Call to Authentic Worship"

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

As we navigate the complexities of our modern world, it's easy to get caught up in the traditions and practices of those around us. But as Christians, we are called to be set apart, to be a holy people who worship God in spirit and in truth.

In Psalm 137, the Israelites cry out in longing for Zion, remembering the days when they worshiped God in purity and freedom. They refuse to sing the Lord's song in a foreign land, choosing instead to hold fast to their faith and their traditions.

As we celebrate Christmas this year, let us remember the lessons of Psalm 137. Let us not compromise our faith by adopting pagan practices or traditions that water down the true meaning of Christ's birth. Instead, let us strive to worship God in authenticity, honoring Him with our hearts, minds, and actions.

*What does this mean for us today?*
- Let us prioritize biblical truth over cultural traditions
- Let us seek to understand the origins and meanings behind our celebrations
- Let us worship God in spirit and in truth, without compromise or apology

As we remember Zion, let us also remember the One who is our true Zion, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May our worship be pure, our hearts be sincere, and our lives be a reflection of His love and glory.

*Share your thoughts and reflections in the comments below! How can we strive for authentic worship in our daily lives?*
