Voter Registration Weekend is coming up in June. If you’re a first-time voter, or if you’ve moved to a different ward since the last election, you will need to register or update your voter registration details to ensure you can vote in your current area.

Importantly, you don’t need to wait for Voter Registration Weekend to do this. You can register or update your details online or by visiting your nearest IEC office at any time before the deadline.

Over the next few weeks, I’ll also try to share content explaining how local government works and what the upcoming elections mean, so that everyone can better understand the process and why it matters.

Our principals must stop bringing school fees through backdoors.

Principals, teachers and SGB does not have powers to refuse allocating books to any learner or their parents because of any payment, whatsoever, that is due to school.

Parents are facing humiliation and forced to wait the whole day or sign illegal acknowledgement of debts when they visit schools to collect books for their children.

The Department of Educatio policy is very clear, No-Fee Schools means learners must receive learning materials and education for free with no payment.

Grant from SASSA is not for school fees and principals must NEVER force parents to use this grant for school fees.

Any agreement jntended to bind parents to pay school fees at no fee schools is illegal and cannot be enforced against any parent.

But if u have money and choose to pay, feel free to do so.

Refusing to give learners their books is a violation of their right to education and no principal should do this or allow this to be done in their schools.

Let's work together to ensure a smooth 2026 academic year.

In the morning of the 14th of January 2026, all learners must be in the class ready to start with learning activities, not lingering around school yard, not knowing where to go or without learning material.

The Clau clau youth development forum Executive Secretary, Mr Sifiso Shabangu, delivered a heartfelt message on behalf of the CCYDF at the Funeral Service of the late Cde Taylor Nsimbini, held at the Clau Clau Sports Ground. The service payed last respect to Cde Nsimbini legacy as a dedicated revolutionary, public servant. Attended by government officials, community, and comrades, it was a fitting tribute to his lifelong service to the people of Clau Clau. Rest in peace Mr Nsimbini 🕊️🕯️
