Legend has it that the reason people love Fridays dates back to 1472, when a dashing, velvet-cloaked gentleman named Sir Ferdinand Riday, or “Sir F. Riday” to his many admirers, roamed the cobbled streets of England radiating nothing but good vibes. Known for his elaborate feathered hats, spontaneous flute solos, and his uncanny ability to declare a halt to all work with the simple phrase, “Nay, for the weekend approacheth,” Sir Riday became a living symbol of joy, relaxation, and questionable dancing. Every seventh day, villagers would down tools, gather in the town square, and bask in his presence as he handed out special mushrooms from a nearby forest and shouted, “Thy responsibilities may wait, but thy merriment may not!” It is said that when Sir Riday passed, the people vowed to forever honour his name by treating every 5th day of the week as a sacred day for freedom, fun, and an unapologetic dose of good energy.
