RECAP: Tourism Careers Expo | 20 FEBRUARY
🌍 Empowering Tourism and Hospitality Scholars of uMzinyathi District

As the proud host of the Tourism Careers Expo, held on 20 February 2026 at the eNcome Museum under the Nquthu Local Municipality, we were honoured to welcome tourism and hospitality scholars from across the uMzinyathi District.
The expo successfully continued its mission of empowering young minds by providing valuable insight into the dynamic and diverse tourism sector. Scholars had the opportunity to engage directly with tourism stakeholders, educators, and industry professionals, gaining first-hand knowledge about career pathways, industry expectations, and future opportunities within tourism and hospitality.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all participating stakeholders, educators, and industry experts who generously shared their time, experience, and guidance. Your commitment to developing and inspiring our youth is truly appreciated.

Most importantly, we commend the scholars for their enthusiasm, curiosity, and active participation. The future of tourism lies in your hands, and we are proud to have been part of your journey.

πŸ“ eNcome Museum remains committed to supporting educational initiatives that empower our communities.

On December 16, 2025, we hosted this meaningful event at a historic museum tied to the Battle of Blood River it was more than a choice of venue β€” it was a statement. A place once marked by division became a space for dialogue, remembrance, and national reconciliation.
This museum stands as a living reminder of our complex past, and by gathering here, we honoured history while consciously choosing unity, healing, and shared understanding. Moments like these remind us why heritage spaces matter β€” not only as custodians of memory, but as platforms for progress.
As we reflect this , we celebrate how history can be reclaimed to build bridges, spark conversation, and move the nation forward together.

At the historic Battle of Blood River site, two museums tell the story from different vantage points:
🟀 Blood River Monument & Museum β€” reflecting the Voortrekker/Afrikaner experience.
πŸ”΅ Ncome Museum β€” honouring the AmaZulu perspective of the same defining moment.
For years, these narratives stood apart. Today, they are connected β€” literally and symbolically β€” by the Reconciliation Bridge.
More than just an architectural link, this bridge represents South Africa’s ongoing commitment to dialogue, understanding, and unity across our diverse heritage.
A powerful reminder that while our histories may differ, our future is shared. βœ¨πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦
