In his book Eating for Beauty, David Wolfe discusses the beautifying effects of MSM. He describes it as "producing a flame like tint in the skin and creating a subtle lustre as delicate as the halo around the full moon on a clear desert evening."

Ingredient of the week! Our Brightening Serum contains Bearberry Extract. Apart from protectiong the skin against damage caused by free radicals, Bearberry contains the active ingredient Arbutin. It is also known to regulate melanin production, or melanogenesis.

I went walking on Noordhoek beach on Sunday in the stormy weather to celebrate the new month of June! Whilst walking barefoot, it reminded me of how useful nature is. The beach offers fresh air, salt water, relaxation, exercise and SAND! and SAND is a natural exfoliant. The finer the sand, the better the exfoliation. Although I don't suggest using sand on your face as it will be harsh, but for the rest of your body the grains make for an extremely healthier alternative to the chemical-rich retail exfoliants. It is important to exfoliate your body: you are simultaneously stripping away dead skin cells making your skin soft to the touch, and also allowing your pores to breathe better, making it less likely for you to get break outs. It is recommended that you exfoliate twice a week, so now you have an excuse to head over to the beach!
