Burgundy & olive green - the perfect palette for autumn into winter in South Africa 🤍

Rich, romantic tones paired with soft, earthy greens create a look that feels warm, elevated, and beautifully timeless for the cooler seasons.

As we move into winter weddings, deeper colour palettes like this bring depth, texture, and a sense of intimacy to your day.

From florals to table settings, every detail works together to create a setting that feels both refined and inviting.

If you’re planning an autumn or winter wedding, this is a palette worth considering 🤍

Would you choose a bold seasonal palette like this for your day?

Wedding Saver Series #6 | Why guest count impacts everything

One of the most important decisions you’ll make when planning your wedding is your guest count.

It doesn’t just affect how many people attend, it influences almost every part of your wedding:

• Your venue options
• Your catering costs
• Table décor and rentals
• Bar and beverages
• Staffing requirements
• Overall budget

Even reducing your guest list slightly can make a significant difference, allowing you to reallocate your budget into areas that matter most to you.

A smaller, more intentional guest list often creates a more personal and meaningful experience, for both you and your guests.

When in doubt, prioritise the people who truly matter 🤍

Wedding Saver Series #5 | Why coordination still matters

Planning your own wedding is completely possible! Many couples do it beautifully.

But what most don’t realise is that planning the wedding and running the wedding day are two very different things.

On the day, someone needs to:
• Manage suppliers and arrivals
• Keep the timeline on track
• Oversee set-up and details
• Handle any unexpected issues
• Be the point of contact for everyone

Without this, those responsibilities often fall onto family members - which means they’re working instead of enjoying your day.

Having a dedicated coordinator allows you, your partner, and your loved ones to be fully present and experience the day as it’s meant to be.

It’s not about planning for you, it’s about protecting your day 🤍

Enquiries for on-the-day coordination are open.

Wedding Saver Series #4 | Smart ways to save on wedding catering

Catering is often one of the biggest expenses when planning a wedding, but there are thoughtful ways to manage your budget without compromising the experience for your guests.

One option many couples consider is choosing a buffet-style service instead of plated meals. Buffets can reduce staffing costs, give guests more flexibility with portions, and create a relaxed, social dining atmosphere.

Another way to save is by rethinking the traditional plated dessert course. Instead of adding an extra course, consider serving your wedding cake as the dessert alongside something fun and interactive.

At our own wedding, we chose to serve our cake together with Krispy Kreme donuts, which created a relaxed dessert station that guests absolutely loved. It helped us avoid the additional cost of a plated dessert while still giving everyone something sweet to enjoy.

Beautiful weddings aren’t about spending more, they’re about making intentional choices that work for your vision, your guests, and your budget.

Wedding Saver Series #3 | Don’t underestimate your photography budget

Long after the flowers fade and the cake is gone, your photographs are what remain.

Photography is not just another supplier — it is the one investment that captures every emotion, detail and moment you may not even see on the day.

Many couples allocate budget to décor first and then try to “make photography work” with what’s left. This often leads to compromise.

If there is one area worth prioritising, it’s the person preserving your memories.

Plan wisely. Invest intentionally.

One of the most common unexpected expenses in weddings is supplier overtime.

If your wedding runs behind schedule, even by 30 - 60 minutes, your photographer, videographer, DJ, venue, and coordinator may charge overtime fees.

These costs can add up quickly and impact your budget more than expected.

This is why a well-structured timeline and professional coordination are ESSENTIAL! It keeps your day flowing smoothly and prevents unnecessary extra costs.

Wedding Saver Series #1 | Book your venue first đź’’

The biggest mistake couples make is booking suppliers before securing their venue.

Your venue determines everything - your date, guest count, budget, and which suppliers are available.

Most sought-after venues book 12–18 months in advance, and many suppliers cannot be confirmed until your venue and date are locked in.

Securing your venue first creates clarity and allows the entire planning process to flow smoothly.
