One thing you won't find in my buffets or grazing tables/boards, is a frozen sausage roll.

They have their place like most convenience foods (although possibly not now I've mastered homemade ones!), but I pride myself on offering good quality, homemade food because it's tastier and it's better for you.

The end ☺️

Do you have an important visitor coming to your place of work?

My guess is, it's probably not the King or Prince William, but they're still important to you and your business, so you want to look after them and impress them, right?

A little token plate of biscuits isn't going to do that by the way, but a grazing platter full of homemade goodies might!

Grazing platters, delivered to your place of work, in time for THAT meeting.

Fridge space can be a little tight once you've shopped for your party! Plus then there's the risk that your family will eat the food that's meant for it 😬

There's no doubt you will save money if you cater for your party yourself, but if you don't want the stress, you don't have the time, or even just the space in your fridge, get in touch.

Dietary requirements aren't something for bespoke caterers to fear, they give us a chance to be creative!

I have spent periods of my adult life experimenting with different dietary requirements for myself and for family, which has given me knowledge, skills and ideas that prevent me from shying away from them.

Some of the foods I have provided in the last few months to suit different needs (all of which were homemade):

-Chocolate brownies (gluten free)
- Flapjack (vegan)
- Quiche (vegetarian)
- Sausage rolls (vegan)
- Sweet potato chilli and rice (gluten free, vegan)

If your caterer cares about providing delicious food, they will put effort in for anyone with a dietary requirement.

Sometimes we need to put a bit of extra effort into homemade food, sometimes we don't.

This homemade 'ice-creamy-sorbet stuff' is so yummy and SO easy. It's best to use already frozen fruit, so you just whizz it up and eat it straight away.

It's also a good way to use up bananas that are too ripe to eat (slice them up and freeze them in a bag for future sorbet cravings).

You can add yoghurt too, to ease the blending process and to add some protein, or you could add some nut butter if that's your thing.

You do need a food processor but if you've got one kicking about at the back of the cupboard, dig it out and give this a go!

You’re having a party and you want to save money where you can, so you’re considering doing the food yourself... how hard can it be?! Not THAT hard, providing you have the time...

A rough breakdown of the time needed for a typical buffet:
Planning (1 hour)
Shopping (1.5 hours)
Cooking (sometimes up to 8 hours)
Prep on the day (2 hours)
Laying it out (up to 1.5 hours)
Clearing away (at least 1.5 hours)
= 15.5 hours / almost 2 days!

Also, think about the fridge space needed...

If you don't have time or fridge space, make sure you ask for help!
- Get guests to each bring a dish (ask them what they’re bringing, so you don’t just have a whole table of crisps and dips!)
- Ask a few people if they’d mind coming early to help on the day.
- Write out a list of jobs that need doing and make sure your helpers can see it so they can crack on without asking you.

If you don’t have the time, the help, or the fridge space, get in touch and I'd be happy to help 😊

The sausage rolls went down well at the North Petherton Community Market & Cafe today. So well, in fact, that I didn't have time to take a photo! (This is from the buffet on Tuesday.)

I think it's safe to say they'll be back at the next market on June 20th 🤩
