Åland Event ordnar sport- och fritidsevenemang.

Finally our course is officially measured! 🏃‍♀️📏

This summer, a licensed course measurer visited Åland to officially measure our route, which is 4,689.20 metres long. The course is now approved by SUL (Suomen Urheiluliitto, Finnish Athletics Federation) and is listed in SUL’s register of approved courses for the marathon, as well as the 5 km, 10 km and ½ marathon distances. The event is also included in their official competition calendar.

What does this mean for us in practice? Just some small adjustments to the start lines – but the number of laps remains the same:
🏃 Marathon: 9 laps
🏃 ½ Marathon: 4.5 laps
🏃 10 km: just over 2 laps
🏃 5 km: just over 1 lap

So there you have it – officially measured, officially approved, and ready for race day! 🎉

Åland – a Country of Its Own 🇦🇽

Åland is an autonomous and demilitarised region of Finland, but when it comes to marathon country lists, Åland counts as a country of its own! 🇦🇽
For example, Aland Islands is listed as a separate country on the approved country list of https://marathonglobetrotters.org/ ,separately from Finland.

So, if you’re looking to add a new country to your marathon list, Åland could be your next destination! 🏃‍♀️🌍
We have already welcomed several marathon globetrotters with 100+ countries on their marathon lists, including Brent Wagner, Klaus Westphal, Vagn Kirkelund, Wojciech Machnik and Philippe Waroux.

There are now less than three months to go until the Åland Marathon & ½ Marathon 2026, and we hope to see registrations start picking up over the coming weeks.
The more runners we have out on the course, the better the atmosphere and the more enjoyable the race will be for everyone taking part 😁

You can now pay for your participation in our events using the Epassi app! 🤩

To pay for your participation via Epassi:

* Search for "Åland Event" in the Epassi app.
* Select the event you wish to participate in.
* Enter the participation fee and complete the payment.

Please note: You must also register for the event using the registration link available on the event's webpage. When registering, use the code EPASSI.

If you register using the code EPASSI but do not complete your payment through Epassi, your registration will be cancelled.

Last weekend, Tero and Tapsa were out along the course to ensure that this year's Åland Marathon & Half Marathon will be run on an officially certified and measured route.
All documentation will soon be reviewed and approved – we're looking forward to sharing the final confirmation with you!

The Käringsundsloppet / TOUR d’ARCHIPEDALO is approaching, and it’s time to remind ourselves what kind of event this really is...

It’s a summer day filled with fantastic cycling along the partly red granite roads of the Åland Islands 🇦🇽

With its relatively flat landscape, short distances, the highest number of sunshine hours in the Nordic region, and a well-developed road network stretching across both the main island and the archipelago, Åland is made for cycling. Along the more than 1,000 km of public roads in the Åland Islands, you’ll encounter everything from families enjoying a cycling holiday to competitive riders eager to reach the finish line as fast as possible.

The TOUR d’ARCHIPEDALO on Saturday, 27 June 2026 includes, among other things:

🚴‍♀️ 170 km of cycling across both the main island and the archipelago
🚴‍♀️ No official timing, but the opportunity to compete via Strava
🚴‍♀️ Lunch during the day
🚴‍♀️ Après-bike by the sea with sauna and a light grilled evening meal

Time for an update on the REGISTERED teams for 2026 so far!
At the moment, we have 23 registered teams, divided as follows:
Finland :10 teams
Åland : 5 teams
Denmark: 3 teams
Germany: 2 teams
Sweden : 1 team
Estonia: 1 team
Lithuania :1 team

So far, we actually have more teams from both Denmark and Germany than from Sweden, and the home teams are still rather sparsely represented at this stage — but a lot can still happen before registration closes!

The final day for ONLINE registration is Sunday 24.5 — just one week away.
How many more teams will sign up during the coming week, and what will the final international lineup look like?
