Wanna know how I meet my husband?

It all started with a band t-shirt and a chance encounter over the grill at McDonald’s. We both worked there, knew of each other, but hadn’t really talked. One day, I strolled into work rocking my Red Hot Chili Peppers shirt, and from across the burger station, Reuben glanced up and asked, “Are you going to see them at Big Day Out?”

I shrugged, said I was thinking about it, and without missing a beat, he grinned and said, “We should go together.”

And just like that, what started as a casual conversation about a concert became something much bigger. We went, had the best time, and from that moment on, we’ve been inseparable. A band tee and a burger station—that’s how our story kicked off!

The chosen location for the proposal was the Pioneer Women's Memorial Garden in Kings Domain Melbourne. However, as we arrived, we were met with a yoga class taking place in the usual spot. Thinking on my feet, I swiftly led Sasha and Shivani to The Grotto - a secluded and other worldly spot that was completely empty of people. It was as if the universe had aligned to create the perfect setting for this intimate and romantic moment.
