Good morning everyone. My thank you's are a little late this year, due to me agreeing to go on holiday the day after the carnival 😫
After much worry regarding the amber weather warning and lying there at 3am, the morning of the carnival, listening to the rain, our day started off way better than predicted.
Firstly I'd like to thank our carnival committee who give up their time throughout the year and don't stop on the actual day. Thank you to everybody who came to help on the Friday and Saturday when we set up and put everything away. A special thank you goes to Mal Sutton who coordinates everything practical while I deal with the paperwork and red tape.
Once again we have to give a huge thank you to HW Martin who had to become involved because of the red tape. Once again they gave their services for free which we appreciate massively, because if we had to pay for traffic management that would wipe us out financially and there wouldn't be a Carnival. We are grateful too to Bill Webb for providing a field to use for parking.
We were all kept safe by the security team from Optic-fm who did a great job, so thank you to them.
A huge thank you goes to all the local and not so local people and businesses who donated raffle prizes. The prizes were fantastic and a special thank you goes to Sharon Slade who only joined our committee this year and sourced some wonderful prizes.
The 90 Speke Air Cadets squadron were an asset once again, escorting our rose queen and helping to keep the park tidy as well as helping to take down the marquees.
Thank you to Hula Fun, Vale Royal Falconry, Runcorn model boats, Bill Webb and his tractors and the classic cars. Thanks to everyone who joined in the tug o' war and the Welly throwing.
Our vendors and their stalls were great to see and keeping you informed all day was our MC Brian Hargreaves.
Last but not least, thank you to everybody that attended. If you didn't turn up and support us, our carnival wouldn't continue.
If I have missed anyone out, or haven't named you individually, please know that I, along with the rest of the committee, am grateful beyond words.
Here's to Carnival 2026 🎪🎡🎠
