Nestled in a vast field of soft seaweeds 🥰 not to be confused with seagrass!
It's easy to tell the difference. Seaweed is a type of algae and use a holdfast to connect to the sea bed. Sea grass however has roots and can even flower! Both are vital to keep our seas balanced and they also produce oxygen. In fact, its thought 70% of earths oxygen is produced by phytoplankton and other aquatic plants. With the COP26 summit in my home looming all I can do is hope they take action to better protect our oceans.

WATER SAFETY!

I had planned to share this image yesterday, but it didn't feel right as my heart broke reading more tradgic news. I'd like to use my platform to share a few tips that can be shared on again and hopefully prevent further accidents.

🧜🏻‍♀️ NEVER go alone!

🧜🏻‍♀️ If you are suddenly in deep water, float on your back like me here! Do nothing but lay on your back like a starfish until you regain control of your breathing. Be calm before you move.

🧜🏻‍♀️ Learn about the water you're entering before you enter it. Ask locals for advice, find safe swim spots through Facebook groups and local knowledge. Don't get in and hope for the best!

🧜🏻‍♀️ Download the app so you can quickly tell emergency services where you are.

🧜🏻‍♀️ Do not get into the water to perform a rescue if you are not trained in water rescue. There may be a danger you can't see. This is a hard one but you may make the situation worse, always try and rescue from land first!

🧜🏻‍♀️ Always swim in bright, hi viz swim hats or wear a tow float when entering busy water so passing boats and jetskis can see you.

Please be sensible, encourage others to do the same & share your safe swim spots and tip.

Don't mind me making a splash in the local papers! Remember if you're out swimming this summer to never go alone, scout your spot well, check tide times and enter water slowly because it is still very cold!

Families and visitors were left in awe as Katrina Comiskey took to the water in her stunning costume this week.
