I will no longer be taking orders for such belts. Why? đ
Today, I removed the listing for custom belts. Most of the requests were for very detailed and expensive designs using traditional Afghan, Pakistani, and Kuchi elements. These pieces are bold and eye-catching, butâŚ
In the end, it feels like Iâm just copying the same belt over and over, moving the same elements around. There is no real creativity in that. The final look depends only on cultural heritage, not on original design. Itâs like putting together a puzzle with pre-made pieces.
From now on, I will not be ordering more vintage Kuchi elements. I will use what I currently have, maybe for a few custom projects or unique pieces for sale. But I will not take new orders for these belts.
I have to admitâmaking these belts and costumes no longer inspires me. There is almost no real design work involved. I want to focus on my own ideas, experiment, and create something that truly reflects my vision. I have already made many beautiful and impressive costumes that do not rely on traditional elements.
Yes, this might make me less popular. Some clients may leave. But for me, it is more important to stay true to myself, to respect other cultures, and to create work that has real artistic value.
Thank you to everyone who understands and supports this decision â¤ď¸
