Let them be little! 💙

I’m all about capturing the kids splashing around for a bit of novelty fun when the parents are ok with it… typically at the end of the session. this little one went straight into the water and sat down, right at the START 😆

It didn’t ruin the session, not at all! It was a playful session where everyone was having fun. No stress, no one getting mad or hurt feelings. Just a whole lot of LOVE and silliness!

These boys reminded me of my own two boys and I loved capturing their energy and personality.

Wanna know the secret to a great family session? It’s the parents encouraging fun! If a kid doesn’t want to do something I ask them to, cool. No big deal. Maybe they’ll do it later, maybe they won’t. But if they’re having fun, I can guarantee I will capture their true personalities and genuine smiles! And that is the goal!

It’s not always a sunny tropical paradise in Fiji. Sometimes it rains 😆 And when we get those non sunny days, I actually love it! Something a little bit different! And it’s even better when I have clients who couldn’t care less about what the weather is doing! Claire and Joe were happy just being on their honeymoon and capturing their love! It rained and sprinkled throughout the session, but we never got a full on downpour 🙃 but I’m sure if we had, Claire and Joe would have been dancing in the rain and I would have been clicking away!

Royal Davui Island Resort ✨ one of my absolute favorite spots to book a photo session at! The resort is on a tiny little island with so many little picturesque pockets to shoot in! Plus, the water surrounding it is pristine so it’s perfect for an underwater session!

Jess and Connor travelled all the way from New York to honeymoon in this little slice of paradise! I am so happy they decided to book a session with me to remember they honeymoon in Fiji! They were so fun to hang out with and we created some stunning images together! 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽

She said yes!! 💍💕🥂

Marcus and Amanda were traveling and Marcus decided to propose while in Fiji! He contacted me two weeks before they got here and we chatted about options! He wanted something simple capturing the proposal and just a few photos after the remember the occasion!

Marcus decided on the location and a sunrise session so we were all set. The morning came and we had a beautiful cotton candy sky for the backdrop of this beautiful Fiji proposal!

Congratulations Marcus and Amanda! Thank you for choosing me to capture such a special day!!

Same sunset, another cute family! 🤩

People often ask how much time they need to book for a session. I have 3 options: 30, 45 or 60 minutes for a regular session on land. If it’s a single family, I often say 30 minutes (especially if the kids are little! Kids usually don’t have the attention span for much more time). If it’s extended family, I would recommend 45 or 60 minutes. That way we can spend time on the whole group, then individual families, and all the other combinations, like all the littles with grandparents, adult siblings, cousins, along with the different combos in single families like mum with the kids, dad with kids, more playful moments together etc. a longer session is also good if we’re going to be moving around a lot or using different locations.

With an extended family session, I try my best to do more than just the standard posted photos. While I don’t have as much time, I am still able to get a good set of photos in a short amount of time. I was curious how much time I spent with each individual family in this session, and looking back, I spent around 5 minutes with each individual family. The rest of the time was spent on other groupings, kids playing, and the full extended family. I love spending more time with families, but it’s really good to know that I can still get great photos that shows family’s connection and reflects my style even in a short amount of time!

We took 5 minutes during this extended family session just for this cute little family of 3! And even with just a few minutes, I’m loving the results!

✨ Beautiful family + pristine beach + stunning sunset = family photos begging to be hung on the wall!

Nina contacted me about doing an extended family photo session while they were here. I don’t turn extended families away, but you typically won’t see me posting them here. I love capturing the connection between people which is harder for me to do with larger groups and multiple families. While I will still get those extended family combos (I know how important those photos with grandparents and cousins etc are), I still try my best to get those individual families, sibling photos, and ALWAYS (if possible) one of just the parents. As you can see in the second to last photo, sometimes kids just want to be in all the photos 😆 but we kicked him out so we could get that photo commemorating Nina & David’s anniversary!
Loving these family photos we were able to get quickly when we had so many families to capture! 🤩

I typically schedule all of my sessions either during sunrise or sunset. Sometimes that just isn’t possible. For sessions on outer islands, that I can get to and back home same day, we have to shoot during the day (usually between scheduled boats). It isn’t my preferred time to shoot, BUT they can still turn out beautifully! Just like this session with Kasia and Lukasz, Stunning!! The grounds at Six Senses Fiji are gorgeous, so I’m always excited to book a session there!

I used to always refer people to other photographers when asked if I did family sessions. It just wasn’t “my thing”. Two years ago I decided to change that. I set out to learn how to do family sessions in a way that I love and that I’m proud of.

I loved this relaxed session with Nicole and her family! Such a special time awaiting the birth of their second baby!

I’m grateful to my clients who trust me to capture their family during whatever stage they’re in.
I had started a different account to share family photos, but I have a hard enough time keeping up with one account let alone two. So get ready to see more families on this feed!

She said YES!!!! 💍🍾💕

Brian messaged me about a month ago telling me about his plans to propose to Natasha, and asking for some guidance about his options and capturing the moment. He decided the Sand Sea + Sky session would be perfect for them! Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans with leftover winds from the cyclone in the area. We watched the weather and came up with a Plan B. A proposal looking out over the ocean at the beautiful Marriott at Momi bay. Even though it wasn’t the original plan, everything turned out perfectly!

So stoked to have been a part of it and to be able to capture such an exciting time!!

Congratulations Brian and Natasha!! Brian thank you for trusting me with these memories! Wishing you two all the best in your life together!

It’s been 15 years since I shot my first wedding (writing that out seems crazy to me)! It was a favor to a friend. I tried to talk her out of it, but she insisted she wanted me to photograph her wedding. It turned out great, and I loved every part of it. I loved the wedding day, I loved editing the photos and seeing the before and after, I loved designing a very special wedding album for her, and seeing her reaction to having the finished album in her hands in. And what’s even more special is that we went to visit her family earlier this year, and I saw the album sitting in their living room and was able to watch as she and her husband flipped through it laughing and smiling with kids on their laps.

Tiff and Mick were married at the Sofitel and they fully brought the party!! With a beautiful ceremony on the lawn overlooking the ocean followed by cocktail hour and then on to the reception, it was a beautiful, fun, love filled day with their family and friends!
