DJ Emico Amore: A Journey Through Music and Healing
DJ Emico Amore, a Japanese female DJ, embarked on her journey into trance music in the early 1990s, first discovering the scene in London and later in Tokyo. Instead, she fully embraced the psychedelic trance movement as a passionate dancer, experiencing the magic of Goa trance at legendary parties in Goa and such as the early editions of Boo
m Festival and other iconic dance floors around the world. In 2000, Emico paused her global travels to train as an physical therapist in Tokyo, a profession she continues to this day. Alongside her studies, she began exploring the art of DJing. While she debuted as a trance DJ, it was in the chillout scene that her talent truly shone. She became known for her eclectic freestyle sets at the renowned ANOYO J-POP Cafe and as the resident chillout DJ at DAZE MAZE. By 2004, Emico had established herself as a label DJ for Interchill Records, a highly respected label celebrated for its exceptional chillout releases. After becoming a mother of two, Emico chose to raise her children in Goa, India. This decision led to a prolonged hiatus from her DJ career, during which she focused on family life. Now in 2024, DJ Emico Amore returns to music scene, reviving her passion as a Goa trance DJ. Her sound is deeply influenced by the shamanic Goa trance experiences she encountered in the 1990s in Tokyo and Goa. With her music, she guides dancers into immersive and transformative psychedelic states. As a newly appointed label DJ for Dat Universe, renowned for its high-quality Goa trance releases, Emico aims to bridge the worlds of studio production and live dance floors, continuing to inspire and energize the global trance community.
