NHRA Northwest Division 6 has announced that the 2025 John Scotti Canadian Championship will be expanding with a six-race series to Western Canada. The events will be held during the Canadian National Opens at Raceway Park (June 14-15), MHDRA Drag Strip (July 5-6), and RAD Torque Raceway (July 12-13). Each weekend will contain two separate events.

Racers will compete for championships in eight categories:
Top Comp (eighth-mile, 5.30 max dial)
Super Comp
Super Gas
Super Street
Stock/Super Stock Combo
Sportsman Motorcycle
Junior Thunder
Junior Lightning.

Racers will claim their best five out of six events towards their point totals. Champions will be celebrated with Wallys and jackets during the Northwest Division banquet in January 2026.

The John Scotti Canadian Championship Series launched in 2024 with a successful 12-race series in Eastern Canada with events across Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia.

“After a successful debut last year in Eastern Canada, we are looking forward to starting up the series in our division and seeing it grow,” said Northwest Division Director Mike Eames. “Racers want more opportunities to win championships, and this gives them just that.”

We are proud to bring the John Scotti Championship to Western Canada,” said John Scotti. “Racers from coast to coast can now compete in our own ‘Made in Canada’ series.”

We say goodbye and congratulations to one of the West Coast most prolific Canadian dragbike bracket racers. Al Omond has retired from the drivers seat after 37 years and 34 NHRA Wallys in Division Six. With championships in all NHRA had to offer Canadian Dragbikes in the Division Six Pacific Northwest and his home track at Mission Raceway Park.

Something to be aware of for the ET Finals at MRP in 2025. As of 2024 season there was no split tree capability for the Bike/Sled class. We fully expect split tree will be in place for the entire 2025 season. We'll post as soon as it made public.
On another note for American competitors, nows the time to put in motion whatever you may need to cross the border.
