Being in Texas meant a must stop to see my old friend Greg Preast I worked with at Wagshal's butchery in Washington DC! …and of course he put me to work 🤠 (which I loved!) Blessed and living his best life with an amazing wife and founding an incredible TX slaughterhouse (and retail locations)! Every product I’ve received from them has been absolutely amazing!! The Journey Continued - Goldee’s Barbecue in Ft. Worth, TX (voted #1 in the last Texas Monthly TOP 50 Texas BBQ Joints. Best meats for us: Ribs & Sausage ... craaaazy good. It was SO fun watching them work the pits and smokers while we waited (got there at 5:30 am 15th in line)! Amazing guys and story. We were lucky enough to see Jalen, Lane, Dylan, and Johnny too! BBQ Celebs :-) Amazing BBQ experience!!! Next up was ... Terry Blacks, Austin.

The journey to create authentic Texas BBQ starts with research! Delicious research that is and Franklin Barbecue was a MUST when we were in Austin. This was our first taste of Texas BBQ and it was MIND BLOWING! Incredible BBQ, fun place, and "Texas nice" people. Next up was ... Goldies (4am arrival)
