Some moments make you stop and appreciate just how much life can change while the people who matter most remain the same. 🤍
Twenty years ago, I wasn't standing behind a camera—I was sitting in the crowd as a guest, watching Nikia and Aaron promise forever. Nikia and I went to college together, and I had the privilege of witnessing the beginning of their story.
Yesterday, I had the incredible honor of photographing them as they celebrated 20 years of choosing each other.
I've always loved love—not because it's perfect, but because of what it has the power to do. When you're loved the right way, you're encouraged to grow, to dream bigger, and to blossom into the person you were created to be.
One of my favorite moments of the day was listening to the vows they wrote for each other. Instead of saying, "for richer or for poorer," they both smiled and promised, "for richer and richer."
That wasn't about money (or it might've been but that's not how I interpreted it). It was about building a richer life together. A richer marriage. Richer experiences. Richer memories. A commitment to continue choosing each other every single day while helping one another become the very best versions of themselves.
I love this family with my whole heart, and I feel incredibly grateful that I've been able to witness—and now capture—some of the biggest milestones in their lives. There is something so special about watching people you care about continue to choose each other, year after year, and seeing the beautiful life they've built because of it.
