Another bumper turnout of 50++ at the Old Thatch saw 11 teams fighting it out over round including Current Affairs, Trivia Trail, Greens and Mondegreens. With pictures relating to Australia and an eclectic spot the intro covering songs from the 1960s to the 2000s there was something for everyone.

In the end old favourites the Smashing Pasties made it back to top spot, closely chased by Budd-WISER.

A great start to 2025, with 10 teams and 50+ players participating in the first quiz of the year. With rounds on Current Affairs, Art and Literature, Leisure and Fashion and 2024 Record Breakers the top end was mixed up a bit, as The 1975ish emerged victorious in a quiz where only 12 points separated top from bottom.

We're back to our normal 1st Sunday of the month slot in February - so see you all then for Curry and Quiz on February 2nd!

An extra special Christmas edition of the Fun Quiz came to The Old Thatch Inn Cheriton Bishop raising money for Cheriton Bishop PTFA Notice Board. 10 teams with 60+ players between them fought it out over Current Affairs, Partridges and Pears, Christmas Crackers and Ladies Dancing.

Not letting us down, "Another Brick in the Wall" aka the teachers team came out on top with a cracking score of 72. With a jackpot game to cap off the night, we raised pretty much £200 to support the PTFA and the great work they do with our local primary school.

We're back as normal on January 12th, with curries from 6.30pm and the quiz from 8!

A massive jackpot of nearly £210 was won by quiz regular Jane as the December edition of the quiz packed the pub with nearly 60 players spread across 12 teams!

A picture round celebrating movember, was followed by rounds including Current Affairs, Films, A mixed bag and a hard round. A spot the intro spanning songs from the 60s to nearly the present day saw Roll out the barrels emerge on top with a cracking score of 70.

We'll be back a week later than normal in the new year, with the quiz scheduled for January 12th. Usual format Curries from 6.30 and the Quiz from 8pm!

Well another great turnout with well over 50 players, saw teams fight it out over Current Affairs, the USA, "HEN" and On this Day.

Seems that the Quizmaster was true to his word as scores were back in a more normal range. Surprise team of the night being the Bar Team, who shot into tied 2nd. It seems they may have employed a "ringer" to help out :)

Don't forget the Quiz returns on Sunday December 1st, and the What's in the Box Jackpot should approach £200 as it rolled over again last night. 4 boxes, 4 prizes left!

A busy night greeted the return of the Fun Quiz, although someone seemed to have forgotten to remind the quizmaster that the emphasis was meant to be on fun!

4 rather challenging rounds on Current Affairs, Taglines, Spotify and Cars alongside a rather esoteric picture set involving Ghosts meant that scores were somewhat lower than usual!

We've arranged to have a word with the question setter and hopefully normal service will be resumed next month 😀

The What's in the Box jackpot immediately hit £60, with a free bottle of wine to accompany a meal for two being won by Anita!
