I taught the inaugural class in Winston-Salem on my version of a Moravian Star. I offered 4 different color-ways, including the original blue/gray, a bright yellow version, a monochromatic blue version, and a blue/lavender version. There were eight people in the class, and to my delight, half chose yellow! (Yellow is my favorite color.) A couple went with the original blue/gray, and a couple chose the monochromatic blues. Here’s the first few pictures coming in. FYI, I have written up the pattern and it will be available in my Etsy shop tomorrow with all the color options and sized for 2’ and 3’ BQs.

My first set of 4 for a barn quilt ladder. I still have to prep the ladder. This version will be for interior or covered porch only, but I am working on an exterior version with sets of 4 seasonal quilts that can be swapped out. These are 10”, but the exterior grade versions will be 12”.

I have added painting custom barn quilts to what I do. Please follow my new business page on Facebook and Instagram, DCC Custom Barn Quilts. These are painted on rust/weather proof aluminum composite material (ACM), and sealed with UVB protection to prevent fading. I am one of the artists affected by Hurricane Helene who is being featured in the Red Dog Gallery in Winston Salem, NC this Saturday, November 16, 2024. Pictures show examples of my barn quilts that will be available in the gallery.

These 3’ and 2’ barn quilts are available for purchase. The 3’ are $125 each (the cardinal and the teal and pink “King’s Crown“), and the 2’ are $75 each (the other ones). I currently do not ship barn quilts, but for people in Eastern Tennessee who want a custom barn quilt, they would be available for pickup in Elizabethton. For friends in NC, we will be traveling across the state next week to attend an event near Morehead City beach and might be able to deliver orders. I can also do custom orders for local pickup in any size up to 8’ square. The UT Volunteer quilt was raffled off for a church fundraiser, but I’m including the picture as an example of custom quilts I could make.

We are raffling off a 2’ TENNESSEE VOLUNTEERS BARN QUILT at Covered Bridge Days 2024 in Elizabethton, TN as a fundraiser. We are asking for a $5 donation per ticket. My booth is #106 and has a purple tent across from The Curious Moon Apothecary near the bridge. Come see me and help support Freedom Church with a $5 donation for a chance to win this barn quilt. It’s made on aluminum composite material (ACM) and weatherproofed so it can be hung on exterior buildings or fences. Winner will be announced at 5 pm on Sunday and you don’t have to be present to win. I am local and can meet you later to get it to you. I make custom barn quilts and can discuss ideas if you would like different designs.

#6. I suspect this will be the first of many cardinals. I will get back to fabric quilts, dresses, and costumes, but the focus until after next weekend is barn quilts. 😁
