Hello, wonderful followers! We are Laurika and Chef Francois Binneman, the dynamic husband-and-wife team behind Food with Thought, your go-to destination for mouthwatering, heartfelt, and thoughtfully crafted meals. Our culinary journey began in 2015 when we met at the airport, both on

our way to pursue our dreams in the vibrant hospitality industry in America. Since then, we've been inseparable, sharing our passion for great food and unforgettable experiences. In 2018, we founded Food with Thought, and in 2021, we officially became partners in life. Our recipes are a tribute to our love and the beautiful moments we've shared together. Chef Francois, the culinary genius behind our creations, has been my rock and inspiration. His incredible skills and unwavering support fuel our kitchen's creativity. Every dish we create tells a story, often inspired by the cherished moments and people in our lives. At Food with Thought, we believe that food is more than just sustenance—it's an experience. There’s something so special about a table filled with little bites that bring people together. 🥂✨

Our canapé menu this week was all about balance — a bit of local, a touch of luxe, and a whole lot of flavour. From smoked salmon phyllo pockets to boerewors kofta with chimichurri, every bite was made with care and intention.

We love creating food that’s beautiful, fun to eat, and full of heart. 💛

Menu highlights:
• Smoked salmon & cream cheese mousse phyllo pockets with fresh dill

Small bites, big flavours 😍✨
From mini BBQ pulled pork sliders and pork koftas, to bacon-wrapped cheese grillers, creamy pastry puffs, curry spring rolls and more – this canapé table had a little something for everyone. Sweet finishes included milktart cups, chocolate brownies and mini toffee cheesecakes for the perfect ending. 💛

Just a gentle reminder …

Although Baby’s Breath (Gypsophila) looks beautiful on tables and in floral arrangements, it’s not safe to eat and should always be kept away from food.

This delicate flower contains a natural toxin called gyposenin that may cause tummy troubles like nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea if accidentally ingested. Especially in little ones.

At Food with Thought, we love pairing food with beautiful styling, but your safety always comes first. We make sure that florals on or near your food are 100% food-safe.

Thyme & honey roasted sweet potato, brinjal and wild rocket salad topped with creamy feta and a fresh herb dressing, perfectly paired with a lemon pepper grilled chicken breast.

Our Journey started in 2015 when we met for the first time at O.R Tambo International airport. Both of us our way to Florida, USA. To work at the same Country club. Where we realized we have a mutual passion for hospitality, food and people.

We have always dreamed and trusted God for the opportunity to have our own product and live our own dream everyday. If you do what you love, you will never work a day.

We started Food with Thought because I want everyone to taste and love Francois food and as much as I do. I am extremely passionate about business, Francois passion and talent that God has given him.
