“Kundalini Cowboy” — we’d spent the morning milking cows for our morning coffee, then mozied on down to the river for a swim. Kate was softening her spine with kundalini when suddenly the muddy river bottom sucked her beloved serpent ring off her finger. She searched the silt and it was nowhere to be found, so she left it as an offering to this marshy river she loves so much. Just one of many symbolic coincidences that happened over the days we spent creating these photos together, with intentions of shedding struggle to step into her power and inner visionary.

From my Bone by Bone gallery, all about reclaiming the wild feminine.

“No matter by which culture a woman is influenced, she understands the words wild and woman, intuitively. When women hear those words, an old, old memory is stirred and brought back to life. The memory is of our absolute, undeniable, and irrevocable kinship with the wild feminine, a relationship which may have become ghostly from neglect, buried by overdomestication, outlawed by the surrounding culture, or no longer understood anymore. We may have forgotten her names, we may not answer when she calls ours, but in our bones we know her, we yearn toward her ; we know she belongs to us and we to her.” - Clarissa Pinkola Estés

Hosting my (first ever) art gallery tomorrow night at the lovely right in the heart of my little neighborhood. Emphasizing the woman’s journey of returning to the wild feminine & Mother Nature in my work these past few years has cracked me open to such deep levels of awe and reverence I didn’t know existed. It’s been an honor to curate pieces of women I love who embody this reclamation. If you’re in salt lake come through and give me a squeeze! 🤍

cast out by a world that fears what it cannot name
deemed wicked when she whispered to the wind
ugly when she bled with the moon
mad for knowing the language of roots and moss
dangerous because she listened to the dark
and didn’t flinch

they called her witch

but now, we are remembering
uncovering her, bone by bone
she lives in the woman quietly tending her altar
barefoot, unhurried
placing hands over heart and soft underbelly
and remembering – she’s her own medicine

we become her
each time we get quiet enough to listen
to the softness we were told to harden
to ancestral wisdom humming in bones and blood
each time we choose
the unseen
the slow
the holy.

the witch returns
