I 'ad a proper great time yesterday. Brockley Brewery in Hither Green was a right treat. The outside gaff where I spun the vinyl was buzzin' with both young and old. It went down a treat, proper success. DJing, what a cracker!
The bunters were well into the proggy rock from back in the day. Even the wee ones, it being a family do and all 😊, wanted a bit o' rock music. They were about 4 to 10 years old, dancin' away like nobody's business. There was this little poppy, 'bout 5ish, wanted it a bit harder, so I spun some Deep Purple—Perfect Stranger—gave it some welly, and he was chuffed.
This right confident little girl tells me I'm a top DJ, then her chum pipes up, says no, I'm a brilliant DJ.
The grown-ups came over, all praises for the tunes, including all the staff and the bloke running the show.
Weren’t expectin' all that fuss. It's always the best when it’s like that, ain't it? Makes you remember how thrillin' it is spinning vinyl for a big crowd. Hard to believe there's only one regular rock night in London at the World's End in Camden, but they do more crunch and alt stuff. I'm well into the classic rock from the 70s and 80s, thrown in some groovy bits to keep the vibe sweet.
Looks like I'll be on more this summer, hopefully setting up a residency with Brockley Brewery.
Come September, there's a massive meat festival in London, and it looks like I’m booked for that one too. Just waitin' on confirmation, fingers crossed.
Next weekend, I’m all set for some Hard House and Psytrance at a private bash.
It’s all comin’ together nicely. Can’t wait for the next one!
