I have a ‘day job’ but my side jobs, taking pictures and officiating weddings, are my ‘dream jobs’❤️
This post is about officiating weddings.
To be a part of a couple's wedding day makes my heart so happy. I keep in touch with my couples, check up on them on Facebook, and see their lives change and grow, have babies, buy houses, and create their life together. Each and every couple that I've officiated will forever be important to me.
This year was tough. Couples had such a hard time figuring out the logistics of having a wedding during Covid. Instead of big venues and lots of guests, most were changed to backyard, intimate ceremonies with a handful of people. No handshakes, no hugs, but still lots of love and laughs.
These pictures are from my first wedding of 2020 (Rachel and Cole) and my last wedding of 2020 (Brie and Jason). When I officiate a wedding, I usually post a selfie on Facebook with the couple, but I didn't this year because weddings felt more private and quiet. But I recently ended up posting them all to my page Lori Dahl, Wedding Officiant, The Knot and WeddingWire. To me, the pictures represent happiness and hope in a weird year, and I wanted to share that happiness and hope.
Happy New Year!
