I got really ranty in my stories earlier today!
I went for a lovely run in the sun, came back for a stretch and doom scrolling and what I read shook me. And I then proceeded to have a good whinge in stories.
Using someone else’s wedding photos and passing them off as your own is wrong on so many levels, no explanation needed. How it is a new thing to buy them and do this is so naff.
It's become super popular to share photos that aren't real weddings- mostly with a workshop credit, but this is a level up!
Styled shoots are different. They can be amazing for creativity, learning, and building confidence. My concern is simply this: the lighting, posing, directing, and overall setup at these shoots are usually created by someone else.
So the images you see don’t always reflect what that photographer can actually achieve on a real wedding day, with real timelines, real weather, real emotions, and real pressure.
What are your thoughts? Do I need to chill or was I right to get my rant on?!
