Katie joined the OFW team in 2022 and instantly knew that she found an incredible group of ladies to work with! Having been a Floral Designer for over a decade, she knew that she was ready for a new challenge but wanted to remain in the wedding world. After a season of assisting she took over tasks for Olivia during her maternity leave and has now been a part of many many wedding planning tasks–from vendor research to day-of coordination, she’s done it all! And she still gets to dabble in floral design for extra special occasions–peep her friend Anne’s gorgeous wedding bouquet!

Though Katie is a big design gal, what she truly loves about weddings is getting to help bring people together to celebrate a joyous occasion. Getting to witness all the special little moments shared between loved ones on such a memorable day is a great reminder of all of the love that exists in this world.

When she’s not working the wedding game, Katie loves exploring new places with her family, having kitchen dance parties with her son Leo and soaking up any amount of sunshine she can find!

Katie is super pumped for this wedding season and already knows it’s going to be filled with many noteworthy moments!

Meet Your Planner: Noelle Bushman

Noelle joined the Team in 2020, and has been having the best time ever celebrating so many amazing OFW couples! As a Chicagoland native she spent several years in the entertainment industry as a casting director, and then an agent focusing on helping blossom the careers of Chicago/NYC theatre actors (her first love). Since leaving entertainment, she has found the perfect marrying (no pun intended) of organization, connection, and creativity in wedding planning, and hasn’t looked back!

Noelle has yet to meet a champagne she didn’t like. The only things she could love more than cocktails and oysters on a sunny Chicago patio would be her amazing husband John and two pups, Riggins and Ivy. After residing in Wrigleyville (Go Cubs Go!) for some years, she eventually made her way back out west to Saint Charles, where she resides now. A fierce supporter of the LGBTQIA community, she believes to her core that everybody, no matter what your body, deserves to be celebrated. When not planning your wedding, you can find her cozy on her couch watching reality TV, out to dinner with friends at the newest restaurant opening, or relaxing by junk journaling everything from her average days to fun travels - especially to her favorite city in the world, New Orleans!

Her favorite part of wedding planning? Design! Building a beautiful day starts with so many fun conversations about color, light, texture, balance, and more. She truly relishes getting to dive into a juicy color palette or out of the ordinary detail idea. It’s so fun! Weaving in all the best parts of a couple through their design choices can create a truly unforgettable day.

Meet Your Planner: Kirsten Westerlund

Kirsten joined the Team in 2020, and has loved every second of it! Born and raised in Northwest Indiana, Kirsten has had the opportunity to live in many parts of the country including Milwaukee, WI, New Haven CT, San Francisco CA, Phoenix AZ, but Chicago has always been her favorite. She met her husband ironically enough at a wedding in Mississippi, and while learning he lived in Chicago, knew she was destined to move back closer to where she grew up. She currently resides in Elmhurst, with her husband and 2 year old son. Kirsten has been planning events since graduating from Indiana University in 2010. She starting off planning large scale university events, then dabbled in nonprofit events. She started planning weddings in 2017 and learned that is where her passion lies.

Kirsten was drawn to Olive Fine Weddings mission that love is love is love and everyone’s story is special. It is so important to showcase each love story as authentically and true to the couple. Kirsten loves nothing more than a cold hefeweizen on a sunny summer day and believes every meal should end in either chocolate or ice cream or both! Kirsten has been enjoying exploring Elmhurst with her husband and son, but misses her time living in Lakeview and always enjoys a trip into the city every opportunity she gets.

Her favorite part of wedding planning? Creating a unique personalized experience for the couple. It is so important to have her special day represent you whether that is spending the morning together going on your daily coffee walks, or having a giant crossword puzzle at your wedding because that is what you to love to do, creating those personalized moments for you and your guests make your love story come to life!

Meet Your Planner: Olivia

Happy Spring, friends!! We are kicking off our 8th wedding season and since you’ll be seeing a lot of us soon, we thought it might be a good time to reintroduce ourselves! Noelle and Kirsten have been with me for 5 years (!!!) this summer, starting as assistants and working their way into lead planning roles. And my right hand girl, Katie, started with us in 2022 when I went on maternity leave. I am truly lucky!!

To start, a little about me:

Olivia started her career in consulting and non-profit operations and worked her first wedding in the Blue Ridge Mountains, VA in 2015 (!). She interned for a planner in Washington, DC, moved to Chicago for her husband’s business school venture, and the two East Coast natives never looked back. Chicago is the BEST.

Olivia and her husband love to travel and most recently had an incredible trip to Machu Picchu in Peru! They are also the parents to a wildly smart and silly 2.5 year old, Sophia. Watching her explore the world is one of their favorite things to do.

The Nicolettis moved to Evanston in January and can often be found having donuts and coffee and then hitting up the local playground.

Olive Fine Weddings is a dream come true, and Olivia is beyond fortunate to work with local couples and their families to plan the most perfect kick-off to their marriages. It is a privilege. So looking forward to a wonderful 2025 season - cheers!!

"Franki and Andrew made wedding planning easy! They are both down to earth, so enjoyable to be around, positive, fun, and just cared about getting married! When we first connected, Franki wanted to have a small intimate ceremony in Napa at a winery and Andrew wanted to have a large celebration with all of his friends and family. They were able to compromise and held their ceremony at Saint Michael's in Old Town and their reception at Chicago Winery. The day felt intimate with all of their favorite people!"
