I never posted this when it happened and i was really proud of it so here’s my winning number from Roxee’s Talent Quest 2023.

This song is a crazy sing and a monster to tackle technically and emotionally. It was a difficult time in my life trying to navigate being a non binary person and still identifying with parts of my cis self and his personality, while trying to find my new identity. Looking back on old photos of myself is hard because i no longer speak to any of my friends from when i identified as a male, so in a way it’s a loss of a whole person and community. This is something I of course struggled with while trying to build my new life 6 hours away from my home and my family. This night really helped me close that chapter. I got to express it all on stage, where i’ve always been most comfortable, and be praised by my peers and people i look up to so much.
I can not thank you all enough for altering my life, even in the smallest of ways.
