Our Artistic Directors, pianist Gloria Chien and Soovin Kim, violinist, are two of the most sought-after musicians, educators, and administrators in classical music. Among their many plaudits, Gloria and Soovin were the recipients of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center’s Award for Extraordinary Service in 2021. We are so fortunate to have their vision, passion, warmth, and artistic integrity guiding our festival!

Gloria and Soovin extend to you the most heartfelt invitation to join us as we begin our 17th Festival this Saturday and embark on an incredible journey through the works of Mozart and the other composers he inspired.

For more than two decades, violist Nicholas Cords has been on the front line of a unique constellation of projects as performer, educator, and cultural advocate, with a signature passion for the cross-section between the long tradition of classical music and the wide range of music being created today. He is a founding member of Brooklyn Rider and the former violist of Yo-Yo Ma's Silkroad Ensemble.

We can't wait for to make his LCCMF debut! He will be with us throughout the entire festival, giving audiences ample opportunities to not only hear him perform, but also as a guest lecturer in masterclasses for students and the Young Artist Quartet.

He is in high demand as a producer/engineer for numerous labels and clients worldwide and has served as Azica Records' Classical Producer since 1999. Our resident composer, David Serkin Ludwig, is considered one of the world’s top composers and is Dean of Music at Juilliard. His choral work “The New Colossus,” opened the private prayer service for President Obama’s second inauguration; in the next year, NPR Music named him in the world’s “Top 100 Composers Under Forty.” Ludwig holds positions and residencies with nearly two dozen orchestras and music festivals in the US and abroad.

We are so fortunate that David has been our resident composer since the beginning. As our resident composer, we have commissioned David to write several works to be premiered at the festival, and he also leads our Young Composers Seminar and programs the Inside Pitch Lecture Series. Check out our website, www.lccmf.org, learn more about these exciting programs!
