A tribute to those we’ve lost…
While your wedding day is the funnest of celebrations, it can also be a fresh reminder or those you’ve lost.
H had a sweet father-daughter dance tribute to her new father in law for stepping in and loving her like a dad, but there’s still no replacing Dad.
As someone who’s lost a parent I understand what it’s like to experience new and sweet seasons in life while also feeling the loss once again. Thoughts like, “I wish she/he were here to celebrate with us,” “I wish you could have met him/her.” Then with the birth of a child, again, it’s “I wish she/he was here to meet you, to play with you, to give you those wet machine gun kisses, to tickle you,” etc. One season in life after another, the loss is felt once again.
“Grief is like a long valley, a winding valley where any bend may reveal a totally new landscape.” - C.S. Lewis
1 Thessalonians 4:13: “But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope.”
Psalm 30:5: “Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.”
I’m thankful for the honor of capturing H&A’s wedding day, and thankful that they, like me, do not grieve as those without hope. God is good 😊.
