A quiet moody moment in Manhattan just seconds before security told us we can’t use flash… oops 😅

This photo was taken inside a mall near Columbus Circle during a winter NYC elopement. We stepped inside for a short break from the cold December weather and I immediately noticed the beautiful Christmas lights decorating the space. I used off camera flash with my assistant holding the light to create this dramatic and intimate feel in the middle of the city.

One of the things I love about photographing elopements in New York City is finding beauty in unexpected places and creating timeless images very quickly in fast moving environments.

I am also sharing the black and white version because this photo feels so different both ways.

For couples traveling to NYC to elope, your wedding photos do not need a huge setup to feel meaningful. Sometimes all it takes is the right light, the right moment, and your connection.
