We're going on a delightful weekend in the countryside!
Introducing Transformer, resident band and head honchos of Uncle Montys. Formed in 2005 in Brighton, they are known for engaging audiences with their energetic, semi-improvised live performances and distinctive sound, blending elements of disco, funk, house, electro, techno, and post-punk.
They have released several EPs and singles and performed in renowned venues and festivals such as Glastonbury, Shambala, Secret Garden Party and Bestival. On tour in Europe at Razzmatazz (Barcelona), Paradiso (Amsterdam) and alongside DJs and artists such as Foals, Metronomy, Peaches, Andrew Weatherall, Annie Mac and Hot Chip as well as being featured on radio and TV including the E4 series, Inbetweeners.
Dapper disco mavericks and the only British band capable of turning any venue they play into a dream version of The Danceteria in 1979. Most 'indie-dance' bands are grooveless fakes who know a trendy DJ. Transformer are the party-hearty, steeped-in-disco, Real Thing." GM
".. billed as "the best unsigned band in Brighton", they might as well be native New Yorkers.. the likes of "Coconut" and "Cinema Car" use an agitated singer, rubber synth loops, hypnotic bass lines, repetitive post-punk guitar attacks and an even a trumpet to get this party started." Yahoo! Music
"Transformer aren't just one of the best dance bands in Brighton, they are one of the best in the country, filtering post-punk New York quirkiness through the sons-of-Daft Punk french electro scene.."" Source
" Transformer played a storming 80’s influenced set to a select audience of young French ex-pats and in-the-know Brightonians. ‘Heartbreak’ got nearly everyone dancing and the long, last number featured a quiff keyboard solo." Latest
We can't wait to play at our very own, first-ever festival !! x
