„New Family" is an international, anti-racist and empowering music project. With features from predominantly young African artists and a focus on the non-European BIPoC community „New Family" has a profound message: Hip Hop is a culture of connection!

Music connects us across continents, nationalities and religions. Through his years of involvement in various communities and as an art and cultural worker, WASEEM has a global network of local and international musicians and activists. Many of these people and their stories and perspectives have come together on the "New Family" EP, presenting their combination of activism, empowerment and hip hop.
"New Family" is meant to be a motivation for the BIPoC communities, the next generation and the hip hop scene to network and get involved for political and social change.

WASEEM is a German-Egyptian artist and activist, part of the international rap crew DSDNG, DJ at KREW and poet at i,Slam. WASEEM organizes hip hop events in Munich, the post-migrant and intersectional festival “AusARTen” and is involved on the board of Die Urbane. A political hip hop party. All of his activities are intended to empower people and promote social cohesion. You can also hear that in his music - German rap with an old school flavour and radically positive, poetic, political lyrics. Waseem has already performed with hip hop greats like R.A. The Rugged Man, M1 from Dead Prez, Mr. Lif, Sadat X, Rass Kass or Amewu on stage and has songs together with Tableek of Maspyke, Edo G. or Main Concept.
