INTRODUCING QUEEN EVE XL MELODY MENARD & KING ADAM XL CARY MENARD
Queen Eve XL Melody Menard is a lifelong resident of St. Tammany Parish. She attended LSU and Southeastern LA University, earning a Bachelor’s Degree, a Master’s Degree and a Plus 30 Hours. She received a Ph.D. from University of Southern Mississippi. She is also a published author. Melody worked for St. Tammany Parish Public Schools for thirty-four years. She began her career as a history teacher at Northshore High School where she earned numerous teaching awards, including being selected as the 1999 Louisiana Teacher of the Year. During that year, she had the unique opportunity to visit the White House and meet President Bill Clinton. Melody left the classroom after ten years to direct the school district’s cable television station, serving as both on-air talent and Director of Broadcasting. Under her leadership, Melody and her talented team won multiple Telly Awards and an Emmy Award. She retired after 34 years in public education. A member of the Krewe of Eve for twelve years, Melody now serves as an officer on the Krewe of Eve Board, overseeing Public Relations and social media. She is honored to work alongside the dedicated Officers and Advisors who work behind the scenes to ensure a successful parade each year. Melody is the proud mother of four and grandmother of fourteen. Two of her granddaughters, Sophia Thiery and Mia Schoen, are past Junior Maids. Her grandson, CJ Schoen, III serves as a Royal Page this year. Melody is excited to share this tremendous year with her husband and best friend, King Adam XL Cary Menard. “Reigning over the 40th Anniversary is such an extraordinary honor,” says Queen Eve XL. “I’m truly humbled by the kindness, generosity and support of this entire Krewe of fabulous women. It’s truly been an experience of a lifetime.”
