Willie Dixon joined Chess Records in 1951 as a bassist, songwriter, and producer. Over the next two decades, he wrote more than 500 songs for the label, including blues staples like “Hoochie Coochie Man,” “Little Red Rooster,” and “My Babe.” Dixon also arranged and produced sessions for artists such as Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, Little Walter, and Chuck Berry, helping craft the signature electric Chicago blues sound. 🎸
