Waaaay back at the 1st edition of the "Vinyl Lounge" at Shakori Hills in the spring of 2013, when the "lounge" actually had a couch - & chairs!

We were originally going for a vintage chill out spot with a seated vibe on the edge of the dancefloor in the vinyl "lounge" at the Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival of Music and Dance. One of our DJs actually slept on that couch that first session! 🤣 This was also the old beer tent, which was about half the current size with Foothills Brewing.

The Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival of Music and Dance started on a sad note this year, but seeing the incredible support from our community has renewed our faith in the universe once again. If you have the resources, please consider donating whatever you can to help Eric Ziegler, his co-worker and his family, as their road to recovery will be long and challenging. Special thanks to our Health & Safety Team, the Shakori community, all of Chatham County's Fire, EMS and Sheriff's departments, and UNC Carolina Air Care. We wish him nothing but the best and look forward to seeing him back with us in the spring! ❤️
