$20 minimum suggested donation at the door. An evening full of music to benefit suicide prevention and mental health intervention services. Proc

eeds from the Memorial Concert will support three organizations, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP); National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), and Rensselaer County mental health and emergency assistance programs through the Catholic Charities CoNSERNS-U program, all in memory of Dustin. Over 400 attended the Memorial Concert last year, helping us reach over $142,000 in fundraising over the past 10 years. We’re planning a special musical line-up this year featuring the music of Eric Clapton, performed by Bobby Vandetta, The Rob Beaulieu Band, Super 400, and special guest musicians including Brad Hester, Nick Landess, and Joe Mele. A veteran of more than 50 years on the local music circuit, Joe Mele lost his son Dustin to suicide in 2013 and rallied the area’s elite musicians to raise awareness of the growing suicide and mental health epidemic. Dustin’s friends and family believe that with erasing the stigma of depression and making proper mental health care more easily available, lives can be saved. Suicide is at epidemic proportions and touches more lives and families every day. Over the past 11 years, the Mele family has gone above and beyond to try to bring awareness and assistance to those who are struggling in the Capital Region. This year’s Dustin Mele Memorial Concert event is sponsored in part by Brown’s Brewing; Chris Garabedian Custom Clothing; Clark Courier Services; D.O.B Parkinson’s Charity; Fagan Associates; GROTTO Skin and Lash Lounge, LLC; Guth DeConzo Consulting Engineers; PC; Live Sound Inc.; Modern Press; RadioRadioX; Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office Unions: Deputy Sheriff PBA & Corrections Union Local 975; Screen Designs Inc.; Sheriff Kyle Bourgault; and Squared Home Inspections. Online donations can also be made to any or all 3 benefiting organizations:

Happy to see AFSP supporting the construction industry and hope that our efforts and your contributions will make a difference!

This week is Construction Su***de Prevention Week - our friends at American Foundation for Su***de Prevention- Capital Region, NY are calling attention this Su***de Prevention Awareness Month to the under-recognized areas where su***de is highly prevalent in all American Industries.

Construction has the second-highest su***de death rate of all American Industries.

Through the Hard Hat Courage Initiative, American Foundation for Su***de Prevention has partnered with Bechtel to address su***de in construction communities. Hard Hat Courage was built to confront the high rates of su***de in the construction industry and help evolve it into a sector that prioritizes mental health alongside physical safety.

This is a reminder that su***de does not discriminate; it does not matter who you are, where you live, work, or background, no one is immune.

Thank you Catholic Charities Tri-County Services for turning donations raised through the concert into hope and relief for those in need ♥️

🌟 A Heartfelt Thank You to the Dustin Mele Fund 🌟

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to the Dustin Mele Memorial Concert for the incredible work they do, not only raising vital funds but also raising awareness around mental health in our community.

Thanks to their support, we were recently able to help a client who was facing eviction after being hospitalized due to mental health challenges. She had fallen behind on rent after missing work, but through the Dustin Mele Fund, we were able to help her get back on her feet.

Today, she is back at work, financially stable, and no longer underwater. This is just one example of how the money raised through the Dustin Mele Memorial Concert is making a real, tangible difference in people’s lives.

To everyone who participates in the Dustin Mele Memorial Concert, THANK YOU. Your involvement is helping people in our community find hope, stability, and a path forward. 💙

⏰SAVE THE DATE: Next year's event will be held on March 7th!
