To those who’ve shared thoughts, memories, or concerns—we hear you. Criselle Cowell and Kariba Catering – Hatch extend their sincerest apologies to anyone who felt upset or offended. The recent comments have been received with care and reflection. This revival was never meant to cause pain, but to lovingly celebrate a cherished tradition from the past.
Their intention has always been to honour a legacy—not replace it—by sharing a recipe that once brought joy to many.
Reviving a cherished legacy—now with a heartfelt twist
Years ago, Polly’s Ice Cream Parlour was known for its legendary pies—made famous through a beloved family tradition. When Polly’s closed, the tradition quietly faded.
In 2016, with deep admiration and gratitude, Criselle took up the recipe shared by Cindy Tantam, reviving the beloved pies with heartfelt dedication. For the past six months, these handcrafted pies have been lovingly offered through the generous support of Kariba Catering – Hatch, who share in Criselle’s passion to bring back this nostalgic flavour of the past.
Out of respect for the Winsor family and the emotional ties to the original name, the pies will now be offered as Criselle’s Pies—same recipe, same heart, now under a name that reflects the journey forward.
A tradition reborn. A legacy remembered. A pie you’ll never forget.
