For the 1st time EVER Empire Outlaws had 2 Women meet up in a final round!!!
OUR 5.50 Index class is attracting the baddest-ass racers from all over and the double points race was a perfect example. With a full field, 2 women rose to the top and Sima Alfaqih took the win over Tamara Gray in the final.
This was a contest b/w 2 very different women with a few fundamental things in common. They both love drag racing, they are both willing to put in the work and they both have the unwavering support of their loved ones!
Tamara, a little older with many years in the driver’s seat, started with a 67 Super Stock Nova, moved into a 67 blown slingshot to get her pro license and then 6 yrs ago stepped into her current ride, a 1969 Camaro. She has traveled to many tracks both in the U.S. and Canada and has been successful, not only in single races, but in season-long points series.
Her #1 guy Larry was so scared of losing to her, the 1x they raced he moved into her lane so she couldn’t take the strip 1st😊
Sima has been around racing for the 19yrs she’s been alive, contributing to their family racing operation in any way needed; everything from working on the car to babysitting.
2 yrs ago the day she’d dreamt about came true! She suited up and strapped her ‘87 mustang for the 1st time. This “twin” to her Dad’s car was originally owned by her Uncle Sammy and was built to run 5.50.
Sima has impressed many people with how quickly she became comfortable in the car, mastered burnouts and staging. Every race she shows improvement in quickly reacting to “the feel” when the run isn’t perfect and is learning to “play” the top end. Index/bracket racing is HARD!!
CONGRATULATIONS TO BOTH BEAUTIFUL LADIES!!!!!
