After a short delay (see our last post!), we’ll be contacting all applicants of The Good Trade Makers Market by the end of the day Wednesday, June 18th.

Curating The Good Trade is, without a doubt, the hardest thing we do each year, and the quality of this year’s applicants made it even tougher. We received over 1,200 applications for just 180 spots across both cities, which means we’re able to accept less than 10% of the inspiring businesses who applied.

While we’re beyond excited to welcome so many amazing makers to this year’s events, it's also difficult knowing that we’ll be disappointing so many perfectly worthy businesses.

For us, the curation process is all about creating balance:
🖤 Welcoming new faces alongside TGT veterans. This year, we’re especially excited to introduce lots of new-to-us businesses, including many trying a new city for the first time.

🖤 Ensuring a wide range of price points, styles, and trades. For example, we could have filled each event twice over with the number of jewelry artists who applied. To avoid oversaturation, we limit the number of vendors per category and aim for variety in style and price so that every shopper can find something special.

🖤 Supporting both local and traveling vendors. We launched The Good Trade to help makers grow by connecting with new audiences. That’s why we aim for a 50/50 split between in-state and out-of-state businesses, to foster community, promote discovery, and make space for growth across state lines.

With this many incredible businesses, there truly are no perfect answers. We spend weeks trying to make the best decisions we can, knowing full well that we may disappoint close friends, longtime veterans, and new businesses we’re genuinely excited about but couldn’t fit in.

Wednesday will be a bittersweet day.

To everyone joining us this year: we can’t wait to work with you! And to those we weren’t able to include: please know how much we loved learning about you. We’re rooting for you, and our decision is in no way a reflection of your worth or talent, it’s simply a matter of space.

We appreciate your understanding and support, and we hope to see you all soon.
- 🖤 The Good Trade

A NOTE TO OUR APPLICANTS 🖤 First and foremost, thank you to every single person who applied to . We’re blown away by the creativity, passion, and care that shines through in your work.

We know we originally promised to share application decisions by June 3, and as many of you have noticed, we're... running a bit behind. We’re a small husband-and-wife team, and one of us recently experienced a medical emergency that led to a prolonged and unexpected hospital stay. We’re okay and on the mend, but it’s set us back longer than we anticipated.

That said, it’s incredibly important to us to give each application the thoughtful consideration it deserves. With more than 1,000 applicants for just 180 spots, we’re working hard to curate a vendor lineup that is diverse in style, price point, and category, featuring both familiar faces and new-to-us talent from across the country. We don’t want to rush the process, because we know how much heart and hustle you all put into everything that you do.

We're now in the final stages of our process and expect to notify all applicants by early next week. Hang tight and you'll hear from us real soon, we promise!

Thanks so much for your patience, your understanding, and your continued support. It truly means the world to us.

— The Ampersand Team

We've got another free book swap coming to New Harvest Coffee & Spirits on Wednesday, February 19th from 5pm to 8pm!

After a full house for the book swap back in November, Ampersand and New Harvest are back at it again. All you need to do is come by, bring any books that you’d like to swap, and take home as many that catch your eye. This event is completely free to attend, open to all, and New Harvest will even give you $1 off any coffee, cocktail, or mocktail if you bring a book to swap.

See you Wednesday!

As always, with entry you’ll receive a complimentary drink ticket to redeem for your choice of a small 5oz cocktail from The Industrious Spirit Co. and Inside Voices, beer from Proclamation Ale, a small hot coffee from New Harvest Coffee, or a non-alcoholic beverage from Topo Chico. We can't believe that it's already been a week since LCT! We've broken down, cleaned up, hugged our team, taken a couple of days off, and watched the flamingos fly south for the winter. The high from this event truly seems to last forever. There never seems to be strangers at LCT, just friends, and that's because of the overflowing kindness, support, and sheer personality that everyone brings through the doors throughout the weekend.

As we wrap up three full years of LCT, we're left floored by you. You amaze us every single time and we're forever thankful that you're a part of our little community and that you've let us be a part of yours.

Love,
LCT
