The US’s recent on their trading partners has split opinion on the effects to the global economy. It also draws attention to global and national resources, asking questions on how trade deals are made. The top 5 nations by wealth aren’t necessarily the top producers or suppliers. If the world’s economy reflected their resources, Africa would stand alone at the top. As the 21st century’s national requirements change, Africa stands at the precipice of dominating global trade.

This July sees the 4th African Natural Resources and Energy Investment Summit convene in Abuja, Nigeria. Ministers will meet with private sector leaders from Africa’s natural resources industries to discuss how they can sustainably develop national economies by harnessing local content.
