🌱😂 HE CALLED ME A DULLARD FOR STUDYING AGRICULTURE... I LAUGHED.
A few days ago, I was having a casual conversation with someone who studies political law and ...
Somehow, the discussion got to courses of study, and when I mentioned that I study Agriculture, she looked at me and basically implied that studying agriculture was for dull people.
l aughed 😂
Not because it was funny.
But because I realized that some people still think agriculture is just cutlasses, hoes, and muddy boots.
The irony?
This same person practices agriculture at home.
So I had to explain something.
Agriculture in today's world is no longer just farming.
Agriculture is business.
Agriculture is technology.
Agriculture is innovation.
Agriculture is marketing.
Agriculture is food security.
Agriculture is entrepreneurship.
The most successful people in agriculture today are not just producers.
They are problem solvers.
They are innovators.
They are people who understand how to create value from farm to fork.
What amazes me is how some people can eat three times a day, wear cotton, use cosmetics made from agricultural products, depend on farmers for survival... and still look down on agriculture.
Imagine that 😏
I have nothing against Accounting or any other field.
Every profession has its place.
But looking down on agriculture in 2026 is like looking down on the very industry that keeps humanity alive.
And here's the part many people don't want to hear:
Some graduates will spend years searching for opportunities.
Others will create them.
Your course does not determine your future.
Your mindset does.
So to every young person studying agriculture and feeling discouraged because people think your field is "less important"...
Hold your head high.
The world can survive without many things.
Food is not one of them. 🌱
