I love this idea! Most daughters want their own wedding dress instead of wearing mom's outdated dress but modifying it into a rehearsal dress or a getting ready robe is so sentimental.

The only "problem" for me is I have 3 daughters, so they would have to share!

Kindergarten teacher Julia Merz had an idea for her wedding where she asked all 88 of her kindergarten students to help decorate the table centerpieces by writing what "love is" in their own words. The kids, ages 5 and 6, came up with answers like "Love is like fireworks" and "Love is hugging your teacher." Julia and her husband Moritz chose their favorite ones to display at their wedding, and the guests loved it. After the wedding, the idea went viral online, with millions of people loving the kids' definitions of love.

OK...let's talk Mother of the Bride dresses.

It's a fine line between finding trendy, modern dresses for moms verses matronly dresses that make moms feel like grandmas.

Comfort should be a high priority and of course, we don't want to upstage the bride but moms should feel beautiful on the big day too.

What do you think of this MoB dress in the article?

Personally, I think it's gorgeous although I'd want a higher neckline.

I went to my first bridal shower in at least 20 years this weekend and it was lovely!

My BFF's son is the groom and my BFF hosted in their backyard. She spent 2 days cooking food and they had tents and tables set up in the backyard. Despite the sun and 80 degree weather, it was purely enjoyable.

The gift I loved the most was a wooden cutting board from Green Ridge Woodworks which had their names and wedding date engraved onto one side. It was huge and beautiful! Perfect for a decoration - or to cut on the BACK side so they don't ruin the engraving.

What's the most unique or fun gift you've seen or given at a bridal shower?

I'm boring and usually get something off the registry but I really loved this cutting board!

What's your feeling about holiday weddings?

Pros:
Built in color themes with plentiful decorations
Days off that won't count toward PTO

Cons:
Higher travel expenses for guests
More traffic for everyone
Limited hotel availability if your area is a tourist spot.

There's no right or wrong when choosing a wedding date. Ultimately YOU as a couple decide what's best for you.

Just be aware that family & friends traveling any distance might need some extra time to save for travel expenses.
