Here are a few big changes that are going to be coming to Folklorist once we get settled in
💐 Building our own regenerative farm! Shooting for ten acres is the goal. Filled with flowers, produce, and a few livestock to create a compete ecosystem.
🏡 On that farm will he a zero waste home or retreat. A small container home made to allow you to actually live truly zero waste for a short time. I wanted this in mind specifically to combat a lot of eco anxiety I know everyone in this space can feel.
🍓 Zero waste groceries! Part of the brick and mortar will of course have those zero waste essentials you expect to see (cleaners, household swaps, refillery) but I also want to have package free and sustainable grocery items to make it a one stop shop. That means pantry staples, produce, ethical meat and dairy, everything you can find at your typical grocery store!
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 And finally a community. Creating community through events and workshops and helping everyone we can with their sustainable journey.

I have been quiet on social media a bit because a lot has been going on at Folklorist Co!
I promised some big news and the biggest is that we are actually moving!
will become our new home soon and with this change comes even more changes! With the next few posts I will be doing a grid style to highlight how Folklorist will become a sustainable market rather than just a sustainable florist.
I’m talking store, cafe, farm, retreats, and a ton more exciting stuff.
Houston will always be my home but bigger ideas and plans and family have told me it’s time to move.
As always thank you for supporting this sustainable shop! Your support allowed me to expand into something bigger that I will be sharing with you in the next few posts. 🥰🥰

You don’t have to be completely zero waste. You don’t have to be vegan. You can still order takeout and buy Halloween costumes and live your life the way you’re used to.
Just try to make your actions a little better each time. Can you compost something? Recycle something? Buy less of something? Can you thrift that outfit instead of buy new? Is there a local option? Any small action is better than none at all.
You got this. 😘💐💕

Eat Less Eat Better:
A simple mantra that has a big impact! For those that do not want to go vegan consider eating less meat (for the planet and the great health benefits) and when you do eat meat (or other animal products) choose to eat only from sustainable and regenerative farms.
Livestock can aid our fight against the climate crisis by helping nurture and cultivate the soil which can sequester tons of carbon and keep it from going into our atmosphere.

Folklorist Co has developed into a sustainable brand. I want to offer as many sustainable swaps as possible! So along with beautifully local flowers we also have household cleaners, laundry detergent, hand soap, and dish soap to refill!
