NEWISM: North East Women In Soul Music was co-founded by a collective of local women artists in the genre of Soul Music to curate events that would represent women in our local music scene and counter the male dominated line-ups we were seeing at many gigs and festivals across the UK. We're glad to see this issue being challenged and we continue to host these events so that our community can discover and support upcoming artists whilst breaking the bias and enjoying lush music ❤️
