Exciting News !! I am publishing a book on Amazon on Saturday 23/03/24, called "You the Sentencer , what would you choose?" in the name of John Ebrington. The front cover illustration by Zeinab depicts an elderly woman who was rightly or wrongly , prosecuted by the Post Office in the run up to the Horizon Computer scandal.

This is book contains three interactive and participative sections.
In the first section you are a Probation Officer interviewing an offender and are assessing what they have to say about their offences.
In the second section are a series of Probation Pre-Sentence Reports prepared for Court. You will decide upon each individual’s Sentence.
These reports are based upon real cases that have been ammonised, with all of the names and other details changed . From this, you will gain a real insight into what causes people to offend and to ways of addressing their offending behaviour.
There are also a number of interesting anecdotal stories about crime and what it is like to be a Probation Officer.
In the third and final section, you are asked ‘What would you do?’ when faced with numerous difficult situations and dilemmas. The wide-ranging questions you will be faced with are both interesting and stimulating.
These will range from personal questions, to you ‘attempting to put the world to rights.’
However, there is one reoccurring theme throughout this book and that is how can we as a society tackle the root causes of crime.
