Martinů – Sonata for Flute & Piano, & More - Live Chamber Music in North Adelaide!
Join musicians Paula Custodio (flute) and Haowei Yang (piano) for a program of beautifully expressive works, presented in the ornate surrounds of North Adelaide Baroque Hall.

Programme:
Julian Cochran (1974) – Romanian Dances: No. 3 - A lively and rhythmically engaging piece inspired by Eastern European folk traditions.
Suanoi Sophonpanich – A Sketch of the Phunakhan River - This contemporary work captures the spirit of place and the fluidity of nature.
Bohuslav Martinů (1890 - 1959) – Sonata for Flute and Piano - Martinů’s expressive sonata blends modernist and Czech folk influences. The work moves from an energetic opening and vibrant Allegro moderato, to a deeply contemplative Adagio, to a lively and spirited Allegro poco moderato finale.
About the Performers:
Paula Custodio is a flautist and piccolo player with a background in both orchestral and chamber music. Awarded First Class Honours for classical performance from the Elder Conservatorium, she has previously performed with the Adelaide Youth Orchestra and toured nationally with A New World: intimate music from Final Fantasy. She is the founder of the chamber ensemble Apricus.
Haowei Yang is a pianist who has performed across Australia as a soloist, accompanist, and chamber musician. Also awarded First Class Honours for classical performance from the Elder Conservatorium, he is currently completing his Master's under Konstantin Shamray. Haowei Yang joined Paula Custodio in performing with A New World: intimate music from Final Fantasy directed by Eric Roth and is a member of Apricus.
This short concert offers a rare opportunity to hear significant 20th- and 21st-century works for flute and piano in a thoughtfully intimate setting. All are welcome.
