A swarm in a small tree in our backyard. In spring, hives that are too big and crowded, will split off to create 2 smaller hives. This group is huddled around the queen to protect her and to keep each other warm. This will last a few days until the scouts out looking for a good spot to build the new hive come back and lead them all there.

I feel that somehow this is the perfect metaphor for how a lot of us feel right now: huddled around each other, waiting for scouts to come tell us the new place is ready and we can get moving again.

Bee sweet to each other, in the meantime!🐝💖
