We bid farewell to one of the most extraordinary athletes our world has known—Fauja Singh, who left us at the remarkable age of 114 after a tragic accident near his hometown, Beas Pind in Jalandhar. At 89, he ran his first London Marathon in 6 hours and 54 minutes, smashing age-category expectations.

He lived simply and sincerely: vegetarian, disciplined, often citing dal-laddu, curd, farm walks, and talking to Waheguru during his runs as his secrets of longevity.

Beyond the medals, Fauja Singh carried the Olympic torch in London (2012), earned the British Empire Medal, and served as a global ambassador for fitness, humility, and purpose.

Rest in power, legend.

The heat affects digestion. Opt for light, fresh, and water-rich foods. Seasonal fruits like watermelon, mangoes, and cucumbers are your go-to. Incorporate plenty of dahi, raita, and salads. Avoid heavy, fried, and overly spicy meals that can increase body heat and make you sluggish.

In para-athletics, especially track events for visually impaired athletes, the runner competes with a sighted guide runner. They are typically connected by a tether or band at the wrist or hand, and the guide’s job is to match the athlete’s pace, stay in sync, and provide verbal cues throughout the race—all without pulling or leading.

It’s one of the most powerful examples of trust and teamwork in sport.

Born from the mountains and valleys of Manipur, Thang-Ta—also known as Huyen Lallong—is a martial art that goes far beyond combat.

“Thang” means sword, “Ta” means spear. But to call Thang-Ta just a sword-and-spear practice would be oversimplifying what is, in truth, a way of life.

Rooted in ancient Meitei culture, Thang-Ta was once used in real battles—both as self-defense and in defense of the land. But over centuries, it evolved. Today, it blends fierce physical discipline with flowing movements, meditative stillness, and deep spiritual energy.

At its core, Thang-Ta teaches:

🎯Balance between body and breath

🎯Respect for one’s opponent

🎯Control over aggression

🎯And a fierce pride in cultural identity

Practised to the beats of traditional drums and performed often during Manipuri festivals, Thang-Ta isn’t just preserved in dojos or gyms. It lives in courtyards, open fields, and community spaces where it’s passed down from one generation to the next.

We’ve been working closely with local trainers, schools, and cultural groups to ensure this art doesn’t fade away. Instead, we’ve seen it grow—with more young people embracing it as both a sport and a symbol of strength rooted in heritage.

The Indian summer calls for smart eating! Load up on cooling foods that naturally bring down your body temperature. Think refreshing dahi (curd), hydrating cucumbers, the magic of sabja seeds in your drinks, and light, seasonal fruits. Skip the heavy, oily stuff – your gut (and energy levels) will thank you! What's your go-to summer food?

Cycling is one of the most effective, low-impact ways to boost your health—physically and mentally.

Here’s what research tells us:

✅ Heart health: Just 30 minutes of cycling a day can reduce your risk of heart disease by nearly 50% (Harvard School of Public Health).
✅ Mental wellbeing: Cycling boosts endorphins—your brain’s natural mood lifters. It’s linked to reduced stress and anxiety.
✅ Joint-friendly fitness: Unlike running, it’s gentle on the knees—perfect for all ages.
✅ Weight & stamina: Burns calories, builds leg strength, and improves lung capacity without feeling like a workout.

Getting started? Here’s how:

🕔 Start small – 10–15 minutes a day. Gradually build it up.

🚴 Wear a helmet – always. Safety first.

🚴🚴‍♀️ Cycle with a buddy – it keeps you motivated and makes it more fun.

💦 Stay hydrated – especially in warmer weather.

Whether it’s for fitness, fun, or just a breath of fresh air, cycling is one of the best ways to reconnect—with yourself, your surroundings, and your health.
